A Word of Warning before you Buy a Dress

Following a conversation recently with a bridal gown retailer I was shocked to hear that some brides are experiencing very shoddy workmanship in their wedding gowns where the gowns have been purchased for the Far East.

Obviously we are not saying that all gowns produced in the Far East are of inferior quality, but the story that has been passed on to me is that when the Bridal Gown shop offered to steam clean this Bride's dress for free after she had spent a considerable amount of money with them on other wedding items, they found the decorative items were simply melting and falling off. This was due to the fact that they had been glued on!

This is just one story, another was of a poor Groom2Be who literally pushed his distraught Mrs2Be through this shop door and asked them to "sort her out" as she was beside herself having bought a dress from a popular online auction site from the Far East and being appalled with her dress.

So basically, whilst we are all for saving money particularly when you are getting married on a budget, if you are paying £4.99 for a wedding dress (as some of them are advertised!), be clear about what you are getting for your money and have a back up plan!

If you have experienced a wedding dress nightmare - drop us a line!

That is certainly something I would push further particularly as it is a shop. At the end of the day, the responsibility lies with the shop so they should fully refund your sister in law!
